The Guide

Hello, Hug parents!

We are thrilled to share with you our latest (and last) project here at The Hug!

Here you will be able to download our Guide, where you will find loads of useful information, whether you are a new parent or a more experienced one. We put together everything we would have loved to know when we became mothers ourselves, and we worked to create something that we hope to be clear, useful, and that you can actually enjoy reading!

Tell us what you think of it at thehugbarking@gmail.com

With love,
Valeria & Almu
THE GUIDE

What We Do

The Hug Support Group is a small organisation in Barking and Dagenham aimed at helping families and new parents find the help they need, providing emotional and practical support and groups of local parents to share the parenthood journey.

The Hug Support Group provides a safe non-judgmental community space for the exploration of issues, topics and problems that parents share within the group. A space to share experiences, learn from each other and create friendships which support service users to grow in skills and confidence within the community.

Testimonials

Really good and so nice to be able to meet other local mums even during these times. The activities were brilliant how it went from child to parent great combination to make everyone included.
My son and I enjoy the activities and interacting with the other mums. Really enjoying the parent support/play group sessions. I feel that including time for sensory play and discussion with mums is so great!
The activities were brilliant how it went from child to parent great combination to make everyone included. It’s always good to have a chat about our children and ourself and love the fact a few nursery rhymes were included.
I'm really happy that there is a place I can meet mums and talk to them at the same time my baby gets used to other babies and play.
So good. Loved it. Really interactive and so needed in these lockdown time. Really good for my mental health as well as my son developing social skills. And a great way to meet other mummies.
I really enjoyed the sessions at Gascoigne, the way the conversation was structured / lead and the chance to be with other mums but with the focus on mum rather than baby.
